Some of the Afi API calls return or allow to fetch objects by External IDs. External IDs are identifiers used by the external system like Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace to uniquely identify its resources (users, drives etc.). It is recommended to use those External IDs to correctly map Afi objects to external system ones (or vice versa) as object names or email identifiers may not be stable.
Multi-Geo support
Multi-Geo Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace tenants map to several per-region Afi tenants with the same External ID, but different Afi IDs.
Objects synchronization
Beware, that Afi performs periodic synchronization with external systems, so mapping of Afi objects to external systems may lag and be incomplete until another re-synchronization performed.
